Fire Alarm rings unexpectedly
The fire alarm at MHS went off at 3:02 pm on Wednesday unexpectedly.
“We have an electrical panel that will tell you whether a station was pulled or it was a smoke sensor,” says Dr. Steve Hankins, associate principal. “If it was a smoke sensor it could have been a malfunction, or the sensor could have got a whiff of something so we will know more later.”
Hankins says that the alarm was set off by a faulty sensor, and they will now be rechecking all the sensors in the school.
Mr. Hudson, the sophomore principal, said he would like to thank both the students and staff for promptly evacuating as quickly as possible.
“Due to today’s event the fire drill that was scheduled for Wednesday 09/16 has now been cancelled.” said Hudson.
“I was kinda upset that the alarms went off five minutes before the bell let us out. I was waiting for school to let out as it was!” said Jordyn McCrone, sophomore.
