Athlete Profile: Mark Sheridan
After moving here from North Carolina over the summer, Mark Sheridan, senior, is already getting involved in MHS athletics programs.
Sheridan said he just begun playing football senior year, and has been running track since his junior year.
Sheridan said he runs the 400 meter, 800 meter relay, and 300 meter hurdle for track, and plays (position for football).
“My favorite sport is probably track,” Sheridan said. “I enjoy it a lot.”
Sheridan said he wants to walk on at Mizzou for track, but has been offered a scholarship to Rolla to run.
“I would rather run at Mizzou for track,” Sheridan said. “It’s a division one school and like that.”
Sheridan said he currently has no plans for track after college, but hopes to be a biomedical (ßCHECK ) engineer after college.
“I look up to my old track coach, coach Carter, at my old high school, Lake Norman High,” Sheridan said. “(get quote about why he looks up to him)”
Sheridan said he practices track every single day, and also runs for a club outside of Marquette’s team.
“Other than Marquette’s spring track team, I also run for an indoor track team,” Sheridan said. “It’s called the St. Louis warriors and its with other high school kids.”
“At Marquette, I probably look up to Noah Kaupilla,” Sheridan said. “The kid is so good.”
