Student Spotlight: John Jackson

John Jackson, senior, has played football for MHS since his freshman year.  During his freshman year, he played on the JV team; and during his Sophomore and Junior year he’s played varsity.

Not only does he enjoy playing football, he also enjoys being in school and making himself better academically.

“My favorite subject in school is science,” Jackson said.  “I find almost all sciences interesting,” Jackson said.

Jackson said he doesn’t know what he wants to do when he’s older, but something in the science field may be in his future.

Jackson has an older brother Keishaun, graduated from MHS in 2012.

“He’s studying engineering at Missouri State University right now,” Jackson said.  “We are pretty close I guess, we also look a lot alike,” Jackson said.

Jackson said besides football, he enjoys playing video games and spending time outdoors.

“I like to play Call of Duty on my play station,” Jackson said.  “I like to fish a lot as well, it’s relaxing and I think it’s interesting.”

Jackson said he doesn’t get a lot of time to do outside hobbies because when he’s not at school or at football he’s working at Wendy’s.

“I’ve been working at Wendy’s for a year and a half,” Jackson said.  “During the school year I only work on the weekends, so I don’t get a lot of time to do any hobbies.”

Jackson said he’s excited for the school year and the football season especially, and wants to contribute to what he hopes to be a memorable season and school year.
