Homecoming week is a week to remember. The banners hanging around the commons, the music blasting at lunch, students dressing as the specific theme, the pep assembly, and the bonfire are all just the beginning aspects of this special week. However, for the Stang Gang, the true joy of homecoming week begins Friday underneath the bright lights of the stadium field.

Cayden Sparks, senior offensive lineman, shares his input about his last homecoming football game.

“The homecoming game is a symbol of the progress that the program has made,” Sparks said.

The opponent for this game is Lindbergh, whom the Mustangs picked to play.

“We have not beaten Lindbergh in a long period of time, and we have a good shot at it this time,” Sparks said. “If we win it will really signify that we have turned around Marquette’s program.”

The Mustangs are 2-3 facing the Flyers who are 1-4.

Junior Quarterback, Jason Powers, explains how the homecoming game brings a special feeling throughout the stands.

“The homecoming game has a little more energy and hype built around it so hopefully we can put on a good show,” Powers said.

The Stang Gang will be decked out in this Friday’s theme, Hawaiian.

“We would like to see everyone who could make it to the game,” Powers said.
